Located in the countryside, just outside the village of Castel del Piano (GR) in the area of Monte Amiata (an extint volcano), Podere Bazzino, is run by Il Quadrifoglio Gruppo Cooperativo. It was recently renewed and today is both a place of social agriculture activity and bed&Bs. The farm is inhabited by Patrizia and her husband Massimo, from whom that farm was named “Bazzino”, his former nickname as jockey in the worldwide known “Palio di Siena” horse race. They are, every day, engaged in agricultural activity, social and Bed&Breakfast tourist reception.
Bed and Breakfast
The property has two double bedrooms (with both the possibility to split the double in two single ones) with shared bathroom ideal for tourists who wish to stay on Mount Amiata and like to be in close contact with nature. Comfortable and quiet, the two chambers, “Panezio” and “Pancho” list the names of the two horses with which Bazzino won two Palio di Siena, respectively, in 1974 with Valdimontone district and in 1982 with that of the Snail. The two bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished and can accommodate a third bed. Guests also have free internet access and a common area with a TV room and adjoined kitchen where they can have breakfast or, possibly, prepare their own meals in total autonomy. For fans of cycling there is also a garage tools furnished for bike fixing- a safe place to leave their bikes.
Those staying at our B&B can also enjoy a large garden perfect for relaxing moments where, among other things, live animals and poultry: chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, a cute Vietnamese piglet and some geese, with whom , especially children, can interact and “play to be a farmer.”
“From the garden to the table’’: for guests who wish to use the kitchen we make it available the option of buying the excellent and genuine garden products, grown in a natural way by Massimo himself.
In summertime, a part of outer space is bound to laboratories and ‘’orto-therapy’’ so as, social farming projects in favour of disadvantaged and handicapped.
